NOLAnkara…

Growing up in a predominantly Ankara infused society, Ankara becomes dormant after a while (don’t shoot me) thus, the need to amp it up without losing fashion and style is eminent. I am very into mixing Ankara prints to create a style that’s uniquely mine.

This NY&CO wide leg pants is right up my alley because not only is it high-waisted with a rich mustard color , it is stretchy which makes for a great fit and also stylish. This pants was styled with an Asos bandeau. Although it was such a great combination, I decided to pair the outfit with an Ankara Kimono inspired jacket tailored to fit my frame.

This outfit is a great with or without the Ankara jacket and can be worn to any social function however it is important to know that when choosing fabric for a jacket, the beauty is in the wow factor of the print.

Finally, I completed the look with a DIY basket purse to give it what I call the ‘African chic’ look. I absolutely loved this look as it can be styled separately depending on your mood and the season.
